forgot this shit.

"not too shabby myself"

last night pat played piano at pita jungle and i went and listened to him play. then our plans were to go to coffee rush and go skate. when we got to coffee rush we were trying to decide where to skate and pat jokingly said flagstaff. so i said sure, and that was that. went home, packed some snacks, put my tent in the car, and grabbed some warm clothes. pat did the same and we met at my house. we stopped to get gas and ended up at the gas station for a half hour with me putting gas and oil in my car, this salesman using my jumper cables, and bums asking for cigarettes and calling me a liar. finally we started heading north. got to flagstaff around 1:30am and cruised around n.a.u. for an hour or so and decided we should find somewhere to setup shop. we asked this guy at the local gas station where we could camp without getting a ticket. he told us the nearest place that was out of the city limits. headed over to the street the gas station attendant told us and found this little dirt construction area off the side of the road and in the low thirty degree temperatures, we setup our tent and wrapped up in blankets to go to sleep. woke up around 6:30am, still freezing cold, packed up the tent and headed into town for some coffee and pancakes. around 8:30-9 we got in the car and headed back to phoenix. overall it was a great time. good driving music, lots of stars, a little bit of skating, sleeping in a tent on the side of the road, coffee, and a shitty breakfast.

just packed up our tent and about to find those pancakes.

this has nothing to do with the trip. i noticed it while i was posting this and thought i'd throw it in for good ol' k8.

chicago trip fall 08.

october 10th pat thrasher and i flew to illinois to get out of the desert for a little bit. we got pretty lucky weather wise, it only rained twice. i took some photos and made a little edit. and i just realized i forgot to put one of pat's tricks in. it's a very important one too because he made it up. anyways, we skated almost every day, checked out some thrift stores, patio sesh's every night, started a band called the stationary stones with matt, and went to a couple good coffee shops. we also ate a place in the city called sultan's market. if you ever get a chance you should check it out. it's the pita jungle of chicago. here's some photos, an edit, and pat's trick that i forgot to throw in there. lates.
